good tip - however you failed to note that if you will miss check in at your prepaid hotel, the airlines does not reimburse for that; not do they help when your intransit and get bumped and miss your connect, onto another carrier.

been there, had that happen and the solution is to use phone calls to get yourself tracked properly across the itinerary, due to the bump. other carriers are not made aware of your change in schedule automatically and that can mean more to take another flight, on the missed secondary carrier. and heaven forbid this happens enroute on a circle trip.

that's a real mess
