A "Space Available Flight", also referred to as Space A trip or a military hop, is a benefit that is provided to servicemembers, retirees and their immediate families. Under the Military Hop program, eligible passengers are permitted to occupy unused seats on DoD-owned or controlled aircraft once all of the space-required (duty) passengers have been accommodated. What this means is that military members who are flexible with their travel plans can take advantage of free airfare!

Prepare to Wait

Bring lots of snacks, plenty of reading material, and your portable electrronics - game boy, walkman, laptop, etc. You may have to wait for awhile and the conveniences of the airport ane not available.
